Join this 'mini-expedition' and discover one of the greatest figures in polar history during this excursion from Hammerfest to nearby Mount Salen.
Adolf Henrik Lindstrøm was a chef and explorer from Hammerfest who participated in all the expeditions that nurtured Norway’s status as an important nation of polar exploration. Learn about this remarkable polar legend on this excursion, which begins with a bus trip from Hammerfest pier to 'Framheim' (a large, cozy tent with a fireplace), which is named after the Amundsen expedition camp at the South Pole, on nearby Mount Salen. After donning warm clothes, you launch your own mini-expedition by foot to the top of the mountain and get a sense of being outdoors in the Arctic. You will plant a Norwegian flag at the summit and then return to 'Framheim' for a taste of Lindstrøm’s favorite recipes.
