11B: The hidden rooms of Nidaros Cathedral (Platinum guests only)

Explore the hidden rooms and secret chambers deep inside Trondheim's ancient Nidaros Cathedral. This excursion is only bookable for Platinum guests.

Nidaros Cathedral was built over the grave of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway who brought Christianity to the heathen Vikings, and has played a central role in the history of the city, nation, and region for almost a millennium. This cathedral was once the religious center of all Scandinavia.
Inside, you can admire the impressive Romanesque and Gothic architecture with its lofty vaults, slender pillars, and delicate adornments. This tour takes you through some of the hidden chambers of the cathedral. In the basement, you walk through the dark passages of the crypt and explore the largest collection of medieval tombstones in Norway. A steep, winding staircase leads you closer to divinity as you ascend into small, enchanting chapels dating from the 12th century.
